•Beginning Class:
- Get pencil sharpened and work ready.
- Take out your notes or assignment to be checked.
- •During Class:
- NO CELL PHONES.. (You are welcome to charge your phone ot the end of the classroom where the outlets are as long as you plug it in before the bell rings, and leave it there until the end of the period.)
- First Offense: I will take the phone until the end of the period.
- Second Offense: I will take the phone until the end of the day.
- Please raise your hand to be recognized.
- No food or drink except for bottled water. (Special occasions like Pi day will be different!)
- If you are in my "flipped" classroom, working together requires talking quietly so all can concentrate.
- Wait until I am not talking to talk to another student, throw away paper, sharpen pencil or ask to leave the classroom.
- No inappropriate language.
- Remain in your seat until I excuse you. Please, no lining up at the door.
- When the bell rings - I excuse you when I say, "Have a good day!" The bell does not excuse you. This is so that no one is rudely interrupted by the bell.
- Book covers are mandatory. You can make your own with a paper grocery bag.
- These books are "readable". You would be wise to read the next section each night, before the lesson the next day. Taking your own notes in your 3-ring binder as you read is advisable.
- Student will need a three ring binder.
- I may check notebooks, unannounced.
- Bring them every day to class so you don't miss those points.
- Each day's notes need to be dated, headed, and should include terms, definitions, and examples done in class.
- When an absence occurs, it is your responsibility to obtain any notes by either watching the video posted on Google Classroom if you are in a flipped class, or getting from another student if you are in Dual Credit or AP Calc.
- Check my website, truaxmath.com or Google Classroom for assignments you missed during your absence.
- You have 1 day for each day absent to make up the assignments.
- For school related activities, please get your assignment ahead of time and have it attempted the next day.
- It is your responsibility to upload your make-up work in Google Classroom upon completion. For the flipped classes, If you missed showing me your notes from the video, upload them with your assignment on Google Classroom.
- Homework will be graded on completion, daily: 1,2,3, or 4 points.
- Notebook quizzes, where you are allowed to use your notes, will be given before a test to ensure you are completing and correcting your assignments daily.
- No late work will be given full credit except for excused absences.
- Ask for help in class, or before school as needed on the assignments; not just the night before the test.
- Tests are the largest part of your grade at 100 points.
- Dual Credit Class will not have re-tests.
- Other Classes will be given re-tests only if all three of the following have occurred:
- All assignments are completed in full (4's).
- Student has been in for help at least 3 times before the test.
- Student received a D or an F on the original test.
- None for Dual Credit.
- Regular Classes: Available upon request in the first 4 weeks of each quarter.
- Projects will only make a difference on borderline grades, but you won't know if you will be border-line early in the quarter so plan ahead.
- All handbook rules apply.
- Be courteous.
- Be prepared.
- Be punctual.
- Be attentive.
